RTITB Forklift training courses are recognised by the HSE and provide learners with the skills and knowledge to correctly, safely and legally operate a range of fork trucks in the workplace. On completion of RTITB theory and practical tests, operators will be issued with an approved certificate and card, which will be registered on the RTITB database (NORS).
Novice Course
This course is run over 3 – 5 days, dependent upon number of delegates
(1 delegate 3 days, 2 delegates 4 days, 3 delegates 5 days).
Refresher Course
This course is run over a half-day to a full-day.

IPAF Operator Training Courses
(Mobile elevated work platforms –scissor lift/cherry pickers)
This course instructs an operator to prepare and safely operate various
types of MEWPs. Machine categories are 3a/1b/3b. One day trainings

This is a one day training course; successful delegates will receive an IPAF training certificate and PAL card which is valid for five years. This qualification is internationally recognised.

Manual Handling
This is a half day course designed for any person who, as part of their duties, are in involved in moving any objects by manual force, whether lifting, pushing or pulling. This course covers correct lifting techniques, antonym of the back and the harmful effectives of incorrect lifting. The syllabus includes;
The Manual Handling regulations recommend refresher courses are taken every 12 months. Upon successful completion, a certificate will be issued by one of our Osteopath for Industry (OFI) instructors.
First Aid Courses
Emergency First Aid at Work
The emergency first aid at work course can be adapted to suit a particular audience and is ideal for low risk businesses, in line with the health and safety first aid regulations 1981. The first aid course is run over one day and includes both theory and practical sessions in a relaxed atmosphere. The syllabus includes;
Certification is dependent on successful continuous assessment, there is no final exam. The qualification is valid for three years, however, under the guidelines, it is strongly recommended that the first aid trained staff attend a half day update every 12 months.
First Aid at Work
Once qualified, holders of this First Aid at Work certificate can be used as first aiders in the work place, in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974. This course can be adapted to fit a particular audience, for example, clerical or engineering staff. This course is run over 3 days and includes both theory and practical sessions. By arrangement, this course can be run on non-consecutive days. The syllabus includes;
Students are independently examined on the final afternoon of the course. Upon successful completion, certificates are issued and are valid for 3 years. If a delegate has previously completed the 3 day course, and their certification is in date, or within 28 days after expiry, you may wish to consider the 2 day re-qualification course. Under the current guidelines it is strongly recommended that first aid trained staff attend a half day update every 12 months.
First Aid at Work Re-qualification Course
This course is run over 2 days and allows for re-certification of First Aid at Work qualified staff. The criteria are the same for the initial 3 day course. By arrangement the course can be run on non-consecutive days.
Automated External Defibrillation (AED)
AED is well established as the only effective therapy for cardiac arrest. The scientific evidence to support early defibrillation is overwhelming. The programme is based on theory and lots of practical sessions. The course is run over a half day.
This course is for those people who have been given the role as a fire marshal in the event of an emergency. The course covers the role of evacuation producers, correct use of fire extinguishers, fire safety inspection, escape routes and regulations. This course is approximately 6 hours, depending on number of delegates. The syllabus includes;
On completion of this course a certificate in line with The Fire Safety Order 2005, will be issued and is valid for 12 months.
